Yesterday The Overseen published an interview with Faith Odera, who left Rungwell at the end of October after ten years. We think anyone who reads it should also be able to read what we said, so here is our statement to the reporter in full:
“We are grateful to Faith Odera for ten years of care and rigour, and for the labellers she trained who now train others. Every project at Rungwell is reviewed under our ethics charter before it begins. We do not discuss work done for clients.”
We were also asked about the project Faith says she left over. We will not discuss it, for the same reason she will not: the work is covered by a confidentiality agreement, and keeping that agreement is part of how labellers’ work is protected too.
Cohort representatives can ask the board’s ethics committee to review any project, at any time, under the third edition of the charter. Anyone at Rungwell who has a concern about a project can raise it with their team lead, their cohort representative or the committee, in confidence.
The independent review of our wellbeing program reports to the board by the end of the year. We will publish what it finds.
